Who is Alex?
Alexandra Hawse is an artist with a vocal range almost as wide as her incredibly eclectic taste in music.
Perhaps it is her deep background in classical music or her devotion to the rarities and oddities of the sounds of the British Invasion that have somehow combined to form a unique artistic sensibility in Alex.
Somehow, the 19-year-old, raised in British Columbia, has blossomed into a truly unique singer and burgeoning songwriter. Majoring on the violin (not the fiddle as she loves to point out), Alexandra just graduated from Etobicoke School of the Arts, and works full time as a private music instructor.
Alexandra performs, writes, and collaborates with other local artists all over the GTA. She has appeared at venues small and large ranging from the Free Times Café, the Toronto Centre for the Arts where she opened for Tyler Shaw, the Capitol Theatre, opening for Dan Talevski, and the Mod Club Theatre as part of Honey Jam.
Studying privately under the direction of Michelle Newman, she believes in taking risks with your heart and your music. She accepts all challenges of a life in music with the passion to be fearless. Alexandra plans to tour the world as an international superstar or open a cat shelter in New York City.

“Alexandra illuminates any room with her vocal ability and keyboard skills. When she sings and plays, she commands the room and quite frankly takes my breath away. She is an extremely pleasant and driven musician. I see nothing but a bright future ahead for Alexandra in music and I will always support her. ”
